Snapshot overview

ClearVoice, Inc. operates a website of the same name that serves as a freelance marketplace and content management system for marketing content.

Company story

ClearVoice, Inc. registered in Delaware in July 2014 and in Arizona in February 2015. The company was founded by Jay Swansson and Joe Griffin who became co-CEOs for the company, positions that they retain as of January 2020. John Mayfield, a general partner at Album VC, is also listed as a director on the ClearVoice corporate documents in Arizona, publicly available through the Arizona secretary of state website.

The vision of ClearVoice, as published on their site, is to "strive to further creative collaboration for making content that empowers, delights and brings more clarity to the world." Their platform requires both a subscription fee and per-project payments, but users are able to choose between different subscription levels that range from a cheaper, hands-on option to a high-end, hands-off option in which the ClearVoice team handles strategy and project management.

Authorized and issued shares of Clearvoice, Inc.

Arizona requires companies to submit annual reports which are made public. The most recent report submitted by ClearVoice was for 2018. This report lists the amount of shares that are authorized and the number that are issued. The report does not list specific shareholders and Delaware does not require companies to list their shareholders publicly, so it is difficult to know precisely who its shareholders are.

Authorized shares

  • Seed shares: 2,075,864
  • Series A shares: 1,428,571
  • Common shares: 16,000,000

Clearvoice acquired by Fiverr

In February 2019, ClearVoice Inc. was acquired by Fiverr International Limited for an undisclosed amount. According to publicly available corporate documents in both Arizona and Delaware, ClearVoice remains an actively registered company. It also does not appear that Jay Swansson or Joe Griffin were required to give up their CEO positions, as of January 2020. The ClearVoice.com site also still lists ClearVoice Inc. as its owner, at the bottom of each of the site's pages.

ClearVoice was founded by Jay Swansson and John Mayfield; both have remained active with the company as co-CEOs. It is not clear as of January 2020 if or how the acquisition by Fiverr affected the leadership team, but the two founders remain listed in the CEO position on the ClearVoice website.

As of January 2020, ClearVoice has fewer than 20 reviews on Glassdoor, but they are almost entirely positive.

Operations

According to records on Crunchbase, ClearVoice received a round of seed funding in 2016 from multiple parties. They also applied for and received debt financing from Cypress Growth Capital in 2017.

ClearVoice was acquired by Fiverr International Limited in February 2019, but the ClearVoice incorporation documents in Arizona still list the company as active.
