What's an editor's review?
An editor's review is when the company internally reviews a site and publishes an unbiased review based on our experience and findings.
How does WSR rate websites?
We use our proprietary methodology and reference how the method uses a combination of human feedback and AI.
Can advertisers influence the reviews on this website?
No. The sole purpose of advertisers is to take up ad space. They do not have the power to influence the ratings and reviews given to the writing service websites featured on this site.
Is my information private?
We take your privacy very seriously and hate spam just as much as you do. Check out our privacy statement to learn more.
Who started the WSR website?
A team of dedicated individuals who know all too well how a day can be ruined by a false review or poor experience with a writing service. One of our four founders had a bad experience with a writing service website (lost some money). After doing the diligence, he found out it was full of fake reviews. He decided to start WSR to hopefully help others avoid the same mistake.
Can reviewers be sued for posting negative reviews?
Freedom of speech is protected online in the same way it is offline. Online reviewers have the right to express their opinions and recount their experiences about any business. Businesses can report a review if it violates our terms, privacy policies, and content guidelines.
How do I get started (as a consumer)?
Checking and posting reviews on WSR is simple. To search for a website simply type in the name into our search bar and hit ‘Enter.’ Our advanced search feature allows you to filter your search by category.
Can I report a review?
A review can be reported so long as it’s an apparent conflict of interest, irrelevant, or includes inappropriate language.
How do I report a review?
Before you report a review for removal, please ensure the review is in violation of our policy. Once you’re sure the review violates our policy, contact us with a screenshot of the review. We will ONLY remove reviews if they display apparent conflict of interest by the reviewer, irrelevant and off-topic information, or inappropriate language.
Businesses
Can I remove my business or website listing from WSR?
We publish business information so that customers can share their experiences with different online writing services. The information we collect is typically a matter of public record and public concern. Therefore, we don’t remove such information from our site. We understand that some business owners might prefer to remain anonymous or maintain a low profile, but it’s important (and a legal right) for customers to find and share helpful information about the services they use. If you need to update or change the information on your business page, please contact us directly.
Can a business sue WSR for a bad review?
It is certainly valuable to consult a lawyer specializing in Internet law. Any good lawyer will likely tell you: (1) consumer speech is protected by law even if it’s negative; (2) WSR is not responsible for the opinions of customers; (3) a lawsuit will draw more attention to the negative review, and; (4) litigation is expensive. You can always sue WSR, but it's not the quickest (or cheapest) way to deal with the disgruntled customer. We recommend contacting us instead so that we can work together to resolve the issue.
Will WSR remove my business page if I've trademarked the name of my business?
Trademarking protects businesses against other business trading using their name to avoid confusion in the marketplace. However, trademark law doesn’t prevent consumers from commenting about the business. As a result, pages with trademarked names will remain on the website.
