Veritas Prep is a privately-owned test preparation and admissions consulting provider founded on June 13, 2002.
According to the about page on VeritasPrep.com, Chad Troutwine and Markus Moberg created the blueprints for Veritas Prep as students at Yale University. Troutwine and Moberg wanted “to provide the world’s highest quality test preparation and admissions consulting services to the most ambitious students applying to the world’s most selective universities.”
In July 2002, Troutwine and Moberg launched Veritas Prep from their apartment in New Haven, Connecticut. The roommates turned business partners started with zero employees and turned down every opportunity for outside investments because they believe they “can stay truer to our original ethos and that our students are better off without owners that are only in it for the financial rewards.”
VeritasPrep.com was initially owned and operated by Veritas Prep LLC; however, Varsity Tutors LLC acquired Veritas Prep in January 2019.

According to the FAQ section of VeritasPrep.com, “students must register online or over the phone prior to attending a class in order to receive the course materials on time.”
When registering, clients may pay in full or select a flexible payment plan option. After enrolling, the client may choose the payment plan option on the checkout page. The first charge is processed either on the same day or the next business day. The rest of the balance is charged in monthly intervals depending on the payment plan chosen by the client.

“For the first 7 days from purchase: A full refund is available. Course kits that are opened or not returned within 7 days of cancellation result in a $350 deduction from the refund.
After 7 days but prior to the third day of class: You are eligible for a refund of the difference between the cost of the course and the cost of the self-study On Demand program included with all courses (GMAT On Demand: $699, GRE On Demand: $750, SAT/ACT On Demand: $499).
After the third day of class: No refunds are available.
Within 90 days of your original course end date: Course tuition is fully refundable if your total overall score (out of 800) does not increase from your highest officially administered overall test score prior to enrolling with Veritas Prep to one completed after your instructor-led course. Both official score reports must be submitted to Veritas Prep within 90 days of the last class of your original course.”
