Full story
WriterAccess is an online marketplace dedicated to connecting thousands of customers to writers and recently, translators. WriterAccess started in 2010 with a mission to connect agencies and businesses of any size to qualified freelance writers. The platform makes it easy for companies and agencies to find expert writers or translators in a wide range of industries. Customers have access to content such as articles, blogs, copy for websites, press releases, product descriptions, and more with the ability to manage workflow with built-in content analytics. As of July 2020, WriterAccess has over 39,000 members with access to +16,000 freelance writers.
History
According to the timeline on its about page, WriterAccess launched in 2000 as "LifeTips," which attracted millions of users by offering 120,000 tips crafted by freelance writers. The timeline claims WriterAccess started as a content marketing agency in 2005. The timeline suggests WriterAccess launched in 2010 as a response to the growing agency business. However, according to its WhoIs Record, the WriterAccess.com domain was created on June 1, 2008.
By 2011, the platform was delivering content to hundreds of clients, including Best Buy, Salesforce, and Wal-Mart. In 2012, in an effort to be more transparent, WriterAccess announced it takes a 30% commission from every order for their "matchmaking magic." Three years later, the online marketplace introduced higher rates for higher quality work. Starting in 2015, WriterAccess featured on the Inc 5000 list five years consecutively.
In 2019, WriterAccess expanded to six countries to attract the best talent in the world.
