The Hot-Essay site has been active since 2016. They are owned by Oceonica Corp., a California-based company that operates several academic writing service websites.

Among the key selling points advertised on the Hot-Essay site are: "writer with the[sic] expertise in your topic", "uniquely written paper with no plagiarism," and "affordable price for[sic] page + 20% discount."

How it works

Hot-Essay uses a bidding-style system to connect customers with writers. In this system, customers may place an order before every paying any money and select from a list of interested writers once their order is in the Hot-Essay system.

Placing an order is relatively simple. The customer only needs to provide a few basic details like order type (writing, re-writing, or editing), number of pages, deadline, and subject. The customer can also provide custom instructions and upload files at this stage or after an order has been created. There are a few optional upgrades to choose from and the only thing required to create a client's account is an email address.

Once an order has been created, a customer will begin to see bids come in from writers. The customer may view the writer's profile, previous order statistics, and desired price. They may also choose to chat with the writer before choosing one. Once a customer selects a writer, they are taken to a payment page where they may choose from another series of optional upgrades.

As is common for bidding style systems, funds paid to begin an order are set aside for that order and only released to the writer once the customer accepts their order. However, the Hot-Essay terms do not clearly support a refund in any case.

Customers may contact their writers through the Hot-Essay site while the order is in progress and completed orders are made available for download through the customer's Hot-Essay account page.

Prices

There is no price table or calculator available on the Hot-Essay site for customers to estimate possible order costs. When an order is placed, there is also no indicator of what the customer may be asked to pay. Since Hot-Essay uses a bidding system, there would be no way to guarantee an order price before writers submit their bids, but many sites often make an effort to give customers an idea of prices before orders are placed.

In addition to the core cost of an order, customers may select from a few optional add-ons while placing their order. These include having the service select an order for a fixed cost of $9.99 or upgrading to a premium or platinum writer for a percentage increase of 10% and 20% respectively. Premium writers are advertised as being in the top 50% and platinum writers in the top 20%. They are also guaranteed to have a bachelor's degree or master's degree, respectively.

Further add-ons are available after the customer selects a bid, when they are required to pay. These include progressive delivery rather than only receiving the full draft at the end, VIP support, and an outline or 1 page abstract.
